Vangard Concept Offices, now simplified as VCO, started as a team of eight and grew to over 800 by the late 1990’s. VCO, previously Business Interiors (BI) then Business Resource Group (BRG), worked with some of the most innovative companies from Cisco and Polycom to Netflix and Silicon Valley Bank.
Over three decades, we have grown into the largest Teknion dealer in North America. Our work can be found in hundreds of offices around the world.

A Bit of VCO History
Business Interiors (BI) was founded and carries major manufacturer lines including Teknion, Knoll, Allsteel & Kimball
BI is renamed Business Resource Group (BRG) and becomes the first office furniture dealership to go public
BRG grows to over 20 offices across the USA
BRG acquired by TCR, a private equity company, and becomes a private company
Jeff Tuttle re-acquires BRG and establishes VCO in San Jose
VCO purchases Concept Offices and expands into San Francisco
VCO expands into Pleasanton
VCO acquires Canada-based Office Source, and becomes one of the first cross-border Teknion dealers
VCO acquires Sacramento-based Cre8 Workplace Environments and becomes the largest Bay Area Teknion dealer

In 1995, Business Furniture Solutions became the first contract furniture company to go public on the NASDAQ. In 2000, the company was briefly sold to a private equity firm. In 2003, Jeff purchased the furniture group back so that he could refocus the company’s mission as a customer centric mid-sized organization. His business, now called VCO, runs with the highest level of service with the most experienced, dedicated people in the industry.
What do you do outside of work?“I’m an avid Warriors and Giants fan and support our local teams frequently.”
Nick is a St. Mary’s College of California Alumni. He is avid fan of our local sports teams: Warriors, Giants & 49ers. Nick also enjoys traveling and talking cars.
What is something people don’t know about you?“I played professional basketball overseas.”
What is something people don’t know about you?“I am a viticulture hobbyist, and grow my own wine grapes.”

Director of Operations
Kara has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Before coming to VCO, Kara worked as a Civil Engineer and a Project Manager at some of the top ranked construction and engineering companies in the country. This included being a part of the construction team for LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal, VMware campus in Palo Alto, and Macy’s in Walnut Creek.
What is something people don’t know about you?“I was a cheerleader at Oregon State all through college!”
Outside of work, Linda is very active and likes to strength train, golf, and go walking. She also enjoys practicing her artistic abilities through gardening and coloring.
What do you do outside of work?“I have a side passion for art. In fact, I created all the artwork in my office!”
As the Design Manager, Ashley is responsible for the day to day needs of the VCO design team and helps to ensure that the design intent is met and complete on all projects. Ashley works closely with all members of the project team to make certain that the programming, space planning, finish palettes, and full specification of the system furniture are accomplished. With client’s ever changing environments and furniture needs, Ashley is driven to create new design tactics and strategies to ensure that every project is a success.
What do you do outside of work?“I love spending time with my English Bulldog Bowser and attending car events.”
Her career started in the medical industry and developed into working as a device implant specialist with top spine surgeons across the country. She found that her strengths and passions are building client relationships supporting and educating them on products. Kristi made a career transition into the design industry adding value with her dynamic communication style and attention to detail. She previously worked as a national sales manager specializing in flooring for commercial, hospitality, MFH, and retail segments.
Kristi has taken the Event Chair on the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) board for SF City Center and works to strengthen their Northern California influence through local events.
What do you do outside of work?“I enjoy hiking, bikram yoga, cooking, traveling and spending time with family & friends in Sonoma sipping wine and bbq’ing.”
